‘Growing Things’ Theme
‘Growing Things’ is under a GPL license and is specifically designed with one column and no sidebars to best suit a journal or diary site.
The design features a header slideshow in which images of any subject matter can be easily swapped in. This demo is set up with images of flowers, berries and plants as an illustration of a blog about gardening, botany or horticulture. It could just as easily be used for bird watching, outdoor activies, etc.
This theme is of fixed width with a horizontal menu.
To install your own photos into the slideshow, go to Appearance>Editor>stylesheet.css and find these sections. In this theme the term changes for each one from ‘slideheader0′ to ‘slideheader1′, making two existing sections. You can add additional sections by changing the number for each additional one – i.e. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and so on. Here is an example of the section:
.art-slideheader0 {
background-image: url(‘images/slideheader0.png’);
background-position: 0 0;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
}
